IN MEMORIAM

MICHAEL MUGERWA SSALI

* Was born August of 1986 and was 27 years old

* Leaves behind a widow Peace Ssali and 2 small boys Eiden Augustine Kawuki Ssali and Peter Ssali as well as a child on the way. 

* Leaves behind a Sister, Niece, 2 younger Brothers and a Mother. Father passed away in 2004. 

* Had been working for MOP for the last 6 years

* Started out his career as a Mason/construction worker and moved to Boda driver to allow a better income

* Told me that the ONLY time he "fibbed" in his life was to get the job with MOP. He has not told anyone but his best friend and me. He had been begging for a job with MOP for quite some time. He had his opportunity when the Brothers were in need of someone to slaughter their pig for a feast day celebration. Michael was there, so they asked if he could do this. He said "YES". Funny thing was, he had never slaughtered anything before in his life! They gave him the knife and walked him to the pig. Michael then panicked realizing he could not figure this out on his own. He proceeded to call his best friend who came over to show him how to do this. Michael then began doing slaughtering for the MOP Brothers as well as several other small jobs. He moved into Mason/carpenter and then to Boda driver

* Michael's goal had been to save up enough money to buy a car "slowly by slowly", as he used to say. He wanted to move from the dangerous job of Boda driver to Private Hire. 

* Michael was the most trusted employee of the Brothers. 

* Michael will be missed by all of us and though the saying goes "we are all replaceable",  Michael is certainly not!

* As Father said, Michael can now take his place with the Archangel Michael and continue his work of protecting all of us!
